Guidance on Events
- Overseas crews requiring help with accommodation and boat hire should contact enquiries@hwr.org.uk We have a lot of contacts and will be able to help you. However the best accommodation and boats do get booked up early so please contact us as soon as you know you are coming
- Overseas crew may not enter the intermediate events as these are restricted to crews from the UK who are members of SARA, WARA or BR.
- It is expected that American crews who are Ivy League, division 1 crews and/or who attended the NCAA Championships should enter Elite
- Division lll and/or those attending NCAA Division lll plus sub varsity and lightweights may enter Senior on application with a rowing CV for each member of the crew stating the number of wins of each athlete and what regattas they have competed in and finishing position. These shall be submitted by 5th May at the latest and the Committee will respond by 10th May.
- Crews arriving before Tuesday 14th June 2011 should make arrangements with one of the local clubs to boat from that club as Henley Women’s Regatta is not allowed to erect its boat racks before this date. Some clubs do charge for this. For boating availability see the Upper Thames website for contact details on www.utrc.org.uk or the Henley Rowing Club secretary at thesecretary@henleyrowingclub.org.
- Overseas crews should note that they are advised to move boats to the regatta enclosure on Tuesday 14th June and all crews are to boat from the regatta enclosure during the regatta. The regatta apologises that it cannot provide a boating facility before 14th June.
- Those clubs wishing to enter Reading Regatta should contact the entries secretary to Reading Regatta for help and advice (See links page)
- Crews borrowing boats from UK clubs should note that insurance costs may be payable in addition to the loan charge
- Overseas crews should note that this event is run under GB ARA rules which do differ from FISA rules. The wearing of a life jacket is compulsory for coxes. The regatta is not able to supply lifejackets and overseas crews should ensure that they bring a life jacket.
- Eva Kovach on edkov@conncoll.edu and Gary Cauldwell at Tufts have offered to help any crews thinking of attending the regatta from the USA. Henley Women’s Regatta also offers help on enquiries@hwr.org. No question is too small or trivial to ask so please do not hesitate to contact us.
- Overseas crews wishing to enter Reading Regatta or Mortlake Regatta the weekend before HWR should see the links to these regattas (See links page)
